What you can expect when you work with us.
This page shares details about how we work with clients who approach us directly about working together, however we’re always happy to review requests for proposals (RFPs) or other solicitation materials.
Hiring a consultant can be confusing, especially when you’re unsure of what’s possible. Every consultant is a little bit different. Here’s what you can expect if you’re working with us.

Inquiry
Give us a shout! Email or phone is best. If the project aligns with the types of work we do, we’ll send you a Client Intake Form to learn more about your needs and how we can help.
Intake
Once we receive your intake form, we’ll do an initial assessment to determine whether we can help. If we have everything we need, we’ll move on to the proposal stage. If we still have questions, we might connect with you to get more information. This can look like going back and forth via email, having a phone call, or finding time for a free consultation.
Proposal
Next is a proposal—we'll get you a proper outline of our plan to tackle the work. You’ll be able to bring this proposal to your Board of Directors, leadership team, or whoever else you want to consult with before deciding if you’d like to move forward with us.
Contract
We love details and clear expectations! We'll draft a custom contract that outlines everything you need to know to feel confident in what you’re committing to, including outlining fees, roughing out timelines, and committing to clear deliverables.
Project Kick-off
Now we're off to the races! For small projects, kick-off includes developing a Project Brief that outlines clear deadlines and gives an overview of project expectations. For larger projects, kick-off looks like bringing our teams together for a meeting and developing a comprehensive Project Charter that acts as a roadmap for the duration of our work together.
Project Delivery
You ask; we deliver. You’ve made an investment in working with us, and it’s important you get what you need! You’ll be provided with updates throughout the project and can connect with our team any time if you have any questions—you’ll have access to a i+d Project Lead who’ll be with you every step of the way

That's a wrap! We'll be sure to debrief with you on everything we've done and ensure you're satisfied with the work. Sometimes, this is as simple as an email confirming our work is complete. Other times, we may host a meeting where we discuss the project in depth.

Sometimes, you know you need something, but you don't know what. That's okay! In that case, we’d likely suggest you come on board as a casual client.
Casual clients benefit from an open ended relationship with us and typically pay an hourly rate for our expertise and support.
